Going cross-platform is one of the few strategies to get users hopped-in for a specific product and that’s what Microsoft’s experimental garage team is doing right now. They have already released a few number of Apps on Google play with most of which are system tools and productivity suites. As of late, they have updated their Next Lock Screen app which is designed to replace the default Android lock screen. The Next Lock Screen app features a quick app launcher, a calendar, information for all your missed calls, text messages and emails all in one screen. There latest addition is the weather widget, though not totally a major addition to the table but at least you’re getting notified about the weather before you step out that door and this adds a little convenience if you’re always on the go.

The Android app version has bumped into version 1.3.9664 and besides the new weather widget, the app also includes the ability to customized your home wallpaper, enable or disable the system status bar, better system integration with default device lock on Samsung devices running Android KitKat and the usual performance updates and bug fixes. The app is now available on Google Play Store and you now try it up for your self if your want a little fresh look on your screen unless you’re a fan of the default Android lock screen or the better Lollipop’s Notifications.
