Microsoft announced the new Surface Go 2, a tablet/PC hybrid for users on the go. The second generation tablet PC has a slightly bigger display compared to Surface Go while maintaining the same compact package.
The Surface Go 2 has a 10 point multi-touch 10.5-inch PixelSense Display with a 1920 x 1280 Full-HD resolution and a 3:2 Aspect ratio. The display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, so you’ll know you are protected and less prone to scratches.
Microsoft uses either an Intel Pentium Gold or an 8th Gen Intel Core M3 processor with Intel UHD Graphics and is supported by 4GB or an 8GB RAM, and storage betweeb 64GB and 128GB and is expandable with up to 1TB of microSD cards and Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud services.
The new tablet boots Windows 10 Home in S mode out of the box and includes a one month free trial of Microsoft 365 Family and supports Windows Hello face authentication.
The Surface Go 2 comes with cameras both front and back with the front having 5 Megapixel sensor and takes 1080p videos that’s best for HD Video calls on Skype and other video call platforms. On the back, there’s an 8 Megapixel camera that features Autofocus and HD videos. It also comes with Dual Studio mics for audio capture clarity plus a 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio.
Connectivity-wise, the Surface Go 2 comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a 1x USB-C, 1x Surface Connect port, a Surface Type cover port and a microSDXC card slot. It comes equipped with WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 technology. There’s also a variant with Nano SIM tray slot for 4G connectivity, best for users who are always on the move.
The Microsoft surface Go 2 will be available initially in the US through the Microsoft Website starting May 12, 2020 with the follow prices:
- Intel Pentium 4425Y (4GB/64GB) = USD 399.99
- Intel Pentium 4425Y (8GB/128GB) = USD 549.99
- Intel Core m3 (8GB/128GB) = USD 629.99
- Intel Core m3 + LTE (8GB/128GB) = USD 729.99
