Lumia fans may only have a few more months left before Microsoft will formally close down the product line by the end of December. The existing Lumia devices that we see in stores and online with an insanely lowered prices seems to be a part of clearing out the inventory. An alleged Microsoft employee told the story about it and it claims that the moved made sense as a stock-clearing exercise, something that’s bound to happen for products that the company needs to let go.
So what happened next after the the ceased ofLumia? We’ll Microsoft may have already figured it all out before then and it seems like the company is preparing its next big step in the mobile industry. Its acquisition of the Lumia line of devices from Nokia can be seen as short-lived and unsuccessful and we all have to agree that Microsoft in all its efforts to bring an alternative operating system into the market requires sacrifices.
That may just be the case for the Lumia brand. A once highly recognized player in the mobile ecosystem that Nokia hoped to jump-start its second effort to the modern smartphone era, that’s long gone now that Microsoft claims ownership as of late which soon might just be hidden inside the closet. However all hopes not gonna end, remember the Surface phone which was rumored to supposedly come out later this year and then just about recently was said to have been pushed back to 2017? Well, Microsoft’s plan for it is still there but plans of launching the product line is still not known up to this time.
The Surface phone might just be the first attempt to save Microsoft’s mobile business model but if it’s going to have its fruition, it might be a product specifically design for businesses and not like the all rounder approach of the Lumia brand. So it seems that the closure is inevitable. we all hope the good memories that Lumia brought to us will always be remembered not because its relatively cheaper but because it’s unique.
