Microsoft just announced the new Lumia 430, a new entry-level handset that features Dual-SIM and a very attractive price tag of $70 making it the most affordable Lumia handset that Microsoft could offer.

Being a Lumia means loaded with smartphone features, apps and slew of Microsoft services that would make your life easier and productive. The Lumia 430 is also a future proof handset as it is Windows 10 ready and the most affordable handset that could upgrade to Windows 10 when the OS would finally becomes available later this year.

The Lumia 430 comes with a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Dual-core processor running at 1.2 GHz, it also comes with a 1 GB of RAM which should be compatible with most of the apps from the Windows Phone Store. It also got an 8 GB of internal storage with 30 GB of free OneDrive cloud storage and microSD card support of up to 128 GB.

Given that the handset is an entry-level device, users should also note that the Lumia 430 only has a 2 Megapixel main camera and a standard VGA camera on the front. Though this isn’t phenomenal, it should do well enough especially when paired with Microsoft’s Lumia camera and though the front cam can only provide a resolution of 0.3 Megapixels, it should still perform well on video calls with Skype and even a simple selfie for instance.

Like most of the Lumia devices for the low-end market, the Lumia 430 will be equipped with a 1500 mAh battery. Users need not to worry too much on the battery pack that comes with the new handset as Microsoft has already optimized Windows Phone 8.1 to maximize the power utilization of its devices and for the fact that the battery is removable, there’s always a way to swap-in a backup battery just in case.

The new Lumia 430 is also one of the ticket to experience the new Windows 10 for Phone as it will be one of the first line of devices (hopefully) to be upgraded to the latest Microsoft Windows OS for phones when it becomes available later this year.

The handset will be available starting this April in India, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus in two color options as Orange or Black. Prices will vary between markets but Microsoft post a rough estimate of $70 before duties and taxes which should be an awesome deal for everyone who would want to jump in the smartphone fever.
