Microsoft brings out the new Surface Headphone 2 for $249.99

Microsoft’s new Surface Headphone 2 unveiled along the new Surface Earbuds with the same ergonomic design from the first Surface Headphone. What’s really new to the new headphone is the upgraded Bluetooth connectivity technology to version 5.0 that now support Qualcomm’s aptX Bluetooth codec.

It comes with an adjustable 13 Level of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature paired to a touch sensitive rotary controls. It comes with a free 40mm driver bringing that crisp audio quality that Microsoft calls it as Omnisonic sound.

The battery on the new Surface Headphone 2 promises up to 20 hours of music playback over Bluetooth with ANC on. Microsoft even claim an hour of playback time on a 5 minute charge.

As for the ergonomic stuff, the new Microsoft Surface Headphone 2 has a soft ear pads and its rotating ear cups can now rotate to a 180 degrees where you can adjust ANC on the left and the volume on the right. You can use either Touch, Tap and Voice to Play and skip tracks and end calls and hands free assistance. The Surface Headphone 2 can automatically pause your music when taking off the headphone and plays back when you wear it back in.

Microsoft Surface Headphone 2 can basically connect to any bluetooth enabled device and that includes your phone but to fully utilize its features, it’s best to connect it to your Microsoft Surface computers.
