Start Menu come back

Less than a month since Microsoft started seeding its Window 10 Technical Preview, there were already at least 1 Million PC users who are helping Microsoft in developing the new OS under the Windows Insider Program.  According to Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore, the Windows team have received more than 200,000 feedback from users. One of the most suggested feature for the upcoming OS is the option to remove the new search and Task view buttons as well as a new fancy animation for the Start menu.

Microsoft also cited that 64 percent of Windows 10 installations are on actual PC’s and not just under virtual machines, this gave the Software maker the confidence that user are giving feedback from a medium-term use and not just for short-term experimentation. Microsoft also found out that 68 percent of users are launching at least 7 apps on a daily basis, 25 percent of all users are launching 26 apps or more which signifies that the OS has been used as a daily driver.

The Windows 10 Tech Preview’s successful adoption tells Microsoft that Windows users are still there looking forward for the company to release an OS that fits their preference, run their apps and performs daily and routine tasks with ease. While Microsoft haven’t announced any update for the availability of the next Preview build, Belfiore reassured users that the company is working hard to bring the next preview with a number of updates that would transpire from what the users have suggested on the feedback program. Microsoft is also planning a series of updates later as the OS progresses into the final release later next year.
