Apple’s new macOS Big Sur is now available for compatible devices but users are faced with problems upgrading their system to the new version of macOS. According to MacRumors, some users from Apple Forum and Reddit reports being stuck in a black screen when attempting to perform the Big Sur update to their 13-inch MacBook Pro’s from 2013 and 2014 models and haven’t found any resolution to the issue as of yet.

However, An Apple engineer investigating the issue may have found a workaround for one customer after removing an IC chip for the HDMI port, but it won’t guarantee that it will work the same to everybody as it’s not certain that’s the cause of the problem.

If you are rocking the MacBook Pro model that we’ve mentioned, we suggest to hold on upgrading your device until a definite solution to the issue have been made.
