Nokia is known to be the first brand to use Light camera technology on a smartphone with their collaboration on the Nokia 9 PureView but Light announced that the company is pulling out from the smartphone market and that they are shifting their focus on vehicles.

The recent announcement is not that surprising though for Nokia, Earlier this year, HMD Global already sourced other partners to provide imaging technology for the Nokia 9 PureView successor.
Apart from Nokia though, Light also partnered with Xiaomi and Sony but none of these companies were able to release their own consumer devices with Light camera technologies built-in.
For Nokia, The Nokia 9 PureView successor is still on the pipeline with the highly anticipated Nokia 9.3 with rumors saying the the upcoming device could feature a typical smartphone imaging sensors that is not as complicated as what Light could offer.
The Nokia 9.3 release is said to have pushed back a couple of times with words that it could finally take shape towards the third quarter of 2020.
