LG might have lost its luster as more and more smartphone devices are coming out this days that even a giant like LG could comprehend. But as they’ve been left behind in 2019, the company has something to remedy their failures this time around.

A few days ago, LG teased their new design language that is set to reignite what LG had on their smartphone devices. Together with the new design, LG is also set to make their upcoming device with a touch of more personality for users with the latest trends in design and technology.

LG in 2020, will be unveiling the new LG Velvet, that brand that well replace all the numerical naming conventions of the past. While the “V” series can be said to have influence the upcoming device, the company says that the new “Velvet” name “evokes images of lustrous smoothness and premium softness”, that is what the new design language is all about.

“Our new branding reflects current trends of addressing the unique personal tastes and emotions of the individual with a greater emphasis on design,”

“It’s a more intuitive approach that we are confident will resonate with today’s consumers and help us to establish a clearer brand identity.”

– Chang Ma, LG senior vice president of product strategy

The upcoming LG Velvet will adopt a new raindrop design with smaller lenses and an LED flash below the main camera module. LG will also use a “3D Arc Design” strategy on designing the LG Velvet with a curved glass for both the front and back of the device as well as a “tactile elegance” feel to it.

LG didn’t delve much into the details of the upcoming Velvet device but the company is said to launch it on May 15 and is trying to recreate the same success they had with the LG Chocolate during the pre-smartphone days.
