South Korea, the home of the LG Electronics has already been able to purchase the handset since it was unveiled and launched a few days before we entered the month of May. Fans and customers looking at the company’s hometown with envy as they taste the pleasure of owning the much-anticipated handset first may no longer wait for that long, the South Korean tech giant LG has officially announced their global roll out of the new flagship device LG G4 in key markets around the world this week which will continue towards the month of June.
LG already partnered with 180 different mobile carriers and retailers around the world to launched the device internationally with Hong Kong as the first major market to launch the company’s flagship, then followed by Turkey, Russia and Singapore. After the primary roll out, LG will then turn to the major parts of Europe along with North America, CIS, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South/Central America.
As it is available today in South Korea, The international version of the handset will come with six different color variants of the leather back cover along with other three unique material colors. The back cover on the LG G4 is removable and replaceable which will also reveal the handset’s removable battery that LG have been promoting as a unique surviving feature of the G series despite other competing products moving towards the non-replaceable battery alternatives. Also with the new LG G4, the handset supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 which allows the handset to rapidly charge its 3000 mAh battery in a short span of time with of course a separate compatible fast charger which can be bought separately.
As an overview of the new flagship handset, the LG G4 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS Quantum display and features a 2K resolution at 2560 x 1440. Inside is a hefty Snapdragon 808 chipset by Qualcomm in a Hexacore configuration running at 1.8 GHz. It is then supported by Adreno 418 for graphics together with 3 GB of DDR3 RAM. The G4 comes with a built-in 32 GB of storage space and also supports up to 2 Terabytes of microSD cards and seamlessly runs the new LG UX 4.0 interface based on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.
As one of the highlights for the new flagship. The LG G4 uses an in-house 16 Megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature, a laser auto focus along with a Single LED flash. The front camera is also worth mentioning as it has been significantly upgraded to a 8 Megapixel sensor with a special software features that focuses on every selfie-centric individuals.
Communication at its finest, the LG G4 supports 4G LTE and Advanced-LTE support along with other connectivity options including a high-speed Wi-Fi ac connection, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and USB 2.0 with 4K Slimport support.
