This morning as weekend starts to scale up, We were surprised to see that our beloved LG G Pad 8.3 notified us for a new update which we then get to acknowledge the prompt to download the said update. Just as we waited for the system to complete the download we have already anticipated a major update in the OS as the size of the update file itself it big enough to carry a serious number of updates in its package. Then after an hour and a half, the tablet finally booted to a whole new and refreshing environment of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
As always, the Lollipop update for the LG G Pad 8.3 brings new and updated user interface elements including the new app switcher, new navigation bar and underlying system upgrades. But despite the new visual elements that Lollipop brings, LG opted to stay with what’s familiar to the G Pad especially the app drawer that seems to have inherit since the Jelly Bean days.
The Android 5.0.2 update weighs 538.49 MB and is now being seeded to users in phases we believed. If your device still haven’t notified you with the update, you may check for updates manually by going through Settings > About Tablet > Software Update.
