Leak: Huawei HarmonyOS set to become available initially to over 40 devices.

With Huawei’s seemingly bleak future on Android, the company has created its own operating system with the new Harmony OS complete with its own App store. The new OS is set to become a Developer Beta on December 18 and is expected to become widely available for Public Beta testers on April next year.

With the eventual availability of the new OS to Huawei devices, company executives said 90% of both Huawei and Honor devices will be able to migrate to the new OS with more than 40 devices entitled for the switch according to Huawei Central.

The list is based on rumors and leaks and is not officially confirmed by Huawei which means that the finally and official list of eligible devices may include more devices or exclude some of these devices on the final list.

Interestingly though, the list includes devices that is yet to be announced including the Huawei Nova 8 and the Nova 8 Pro and the Honor V40. And as HarmonyOS hits the market, the first device to include the new OS out of the box would be the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro (At least for its Chinese version)
