iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus to upgrade its camera to 12 Megapixel with 5-Element lens
With each iPhone version release, Apple always made sure that users as not only getting a newly designed handset but also new features are always going along with it. But since the iPhone 4s made its public debut, Apple has remained loyal in the 8 Megapixel arena and installed the same pixel-binding sensor up to the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.
But rumors of the upcoming iPhone 6s is said to finally have its camera upgraded into 12 Megapixel, a 4 Megapixel more from the iPhone 6 which is expected to be unveiled by Apple this coming September. The rumor has been around for quite some time already and the latest came from a reputable Apple supply chain who spoke with Business Insider recently.
The supply chains pointed out that Apple has recently bought a 5-Element lens for the next iPhone, they are plastic and each element is equal to one stand-alone lens which are molded together to capture scenes in more details. The camera module is then covered by sapphire glass to protect from scratches and other elements.
While we’ll get a significant camera upgrade with 5-element lens on the upcoming iPhone 6s, Apple has also considered on using a 6-Element lens on the next version of handset with the iPhone 7 which is slated to come out next year.
