Huawei’s new P30 and P30 Pro to “Rewrite The Rules of Photography”

Huawei in recent years gave out a lot of emphasis on mobile photography as it partners with Leica to bring on of the best camera phones there is. In its continuing quest to become the best cameraphone in the market, Huawei had finally unveiled their imaging-centric flagship device on their P series with the new P30 and the P30 Pro.
Both the P30 and the P30 Pro comes with a Leica co-engineered imaging hardware and technological powerhouse that makes the new handsets one of the most advanced mobile devices to come out recently.
P30 Pro

The new P30 Pro, like always is packed with a ton of features with all the bells and whistles of a camera phone. It’s comes with the world’s first Leica quad-camera equipped mobile device and the worlds first BYYB sensor that serves as the handset’s primary 40 Megapixel camera.
While it sounds a little out of this world, the BYYB sensor is somewhat like the traditional RGB sensor but the new Yellow filter takes charge instead of Green for an even better performance in low-light. It sits under a f/1.6 Aperture lens and comes with OIS.

Making up the rest of the quad-camera module are the 20 Megapixel sensor with an UltraWide lens and its 8 Megapixel sensor with 5X Periscope lens that features 5x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom which can be pushed up to 50x digital zoom. And there’s the Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera which completes the main camera module.
On the front, you’ll get a 32 Megapixel Selfie camera that sits on a teardrop notch on the front.

Besides imaging, one that’s change on the new P30 Pro is the display. It comes with a 6.47-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and now has a new generation in-display fingerprint sensor.
What powers the devices is Huawei’s powerful Kirin 980 chipset with 8GB of system RAM with storage options from 128GB and up to 512GB of storage. As expected, there’s no memory expansion for the the device.
It runs on 4200 mAh embedded battery with a 40W SuperCharge technology support and 15W wireless charging plus reverse charging tech.

Besides that, the new P30 Pro is water and dust resistant and comes in variety of colors including: Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Classic Black, Aurora.
P30

Smaller doesn’t mean less and the P30 proves that. One could think of it as the direct successor of the P20 Pro in terms of camera tech with a triple camera sensor on the back. The main module consists of a 40 Megapixel primary sensor together with a 16 Megapixel camera with UltraWide angle lens and an 8 Megapixel telephoto camera that offers up to 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom.

As for its display, the P30 includes a 6.1-inch super AMOLED panel with a full-HD+ screen resolution. Fingerprint sensor is also placed under the display and like the P30 Pro, it’s a new generation in-display fingerprint scanner as well.
The handset is powered with no other than Huawei’s fastest chip to date the Kirin 980 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and like its bigger sibling, the P30 also doesn’t support memory expansion as well, which can be a little disappointing given that these devices are company’s supposed flagships.

Anyway, the new P30 boots Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 on top. It runs on 3,650 mAh embedded battery with 40W SuperCharge tech. There’s no wireless charging though
While users doesn’t have a choice on the internals, what they could do is select the best color schemes for their handset which will include: Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Classic Black and Aurora.
