As numerous reports that Huawei is set to launch the next version of their foldable device, the company’s account on Weibo officially confirmed that the successor of the Huawei Mate XS is on the way.

As seen from the image above, the Mate X2 is set to go official on February 22. The event is expected to be live-streamed on various channels as the on-going COVID-19 pandemic still looms.

While Huawei did not mention any information on what the Mate X2 could include except for the fact that its foldable, previous rumors pointed out that it should have a 8.01-inch diagonal screen size with a resolution of 2480 x 2222.

Since this features an inward-folding display, rumors also suggests that it will sport a external display which could have a 6.45-inch screen size. It is also said that the Mate X2 may support 90Hz refresh rates on both screens and they are supplied from Samsung and BOE.

The upcoming Huawei Mate X2 will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 9000 5G based on 5nm process and will be booting Android 10 out of the box. There’s a 4,400mAh battery under the skin and is supporting 66W fast charging.
