Huami official announced the new Amazfit Ares with 14 days of battery life

The new Huami Amazfit Ares in now officially available on Amazfit product listing in China. The new smartwatch is one of Amazfit’s new budget friendly device with a rugged outer shell designed to withstand a daily beating and a 5ATM feature for waterproofing of up to 50 meters underwater.

The new smartwatch is built around a 1.28-inch reflective touchscreen display with a 176×176 resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The main unit is housed in a innovative octagonal case with a soft silicon band and only weighs 48 grams.

It has a Biotracker PPG optical heart rate sensor and supports sleep tracking and comes with 70 different sports modes including: swimming, running, cycling, steps and more with a comprehensive performance analysis via the Firstbeat platform.

It runs a proprietary user interface and can sync with Android 5.0 and later or with iOS 8.0 and later. It has a 200mAh rechargeable battery which should last 14 days on regular use and can go for about 90 days on watch only mode with heart rate tracking, GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity turned off.

Charging the Amazfit Ares would take about 2 hours and is easy as it comes with its own magnetic charging stand which is already included in the package.

The new Amazfit Ares will be available in Black and Army Green color variants for CNY499 or around $70. The new smartwatch is up for pre-order in China and will be in store shelves by June 1st.
