This is more like a purely fan-reimagined thing or perhaps has basis to it but according to new reports, HMD Global is about to bring back the stylish Nokia 3650 later this year.
Millennials are mostly familiar with Nokia’s crazy designs back in the day and the Nokia 3650 remains one of the strangest thing around. The original Nokia 3650 had a circular keypad layout that took a lot of getting used to before it becomes fully functional on one’s hands.
The handset entered the market in 2003 and was powered by Series 60 Symbian OS. It featured a large (at that time) 2.1-inch 176 x 208 TFT display with a single VGA camera on the back.
If this rumored resurrection is becoming a reality, We’d expect HMD Global to better utilize the design with practical functionality to it. It would be even better if it runs Android, bigger screen and better camera.
However, with what HMD Global has in its resurrected Nokia device portfolio, We’ll most likely get a device with KaiOS on board, some key design element to the device it’s inspired but let’s not hope to get the same quirky keyboard layout. Maybe if they make one, it’s better to consider the Nokia 3660’s keyboard layout (the successor to the Nokia 3650) as it comes practically useful across the board.
