HMD Global announces the new Nokia 2.3 with two days of battery life

After a few days of teasing, HMD Global finally unwraps the company’s latest affordable device the Nokia 2.3 in Cairo Egypt.

The new Nokia 2.3 is HMD Global new addition to its latest budget-friendly Android One smartphone lineup. It provides a simple and easy to use user-friendly design with nothing but just works approach for everyday use.

The handset is built on Polymer body and comes with a large 6.2-inch 720p display with a notch on top. the back of the phone features a 3D nano-textured pattern which should make the handset easy to hold. from the physical buttons, the Nokia 2.3 includes a dedicated button for instantly summoning Google Assistant.

While the handset is for the budget conscious, it still has the same amount of quality that Nokia always has and that includes a dual camera system on the back of the phone. It’s got a 13 Megapixel primary sensor together with a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. The front camera sits inside the display notch and has a 5 Megapixel resolutions in it which doubles as its face unlock sensor.

The new Nokia 2.3 is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chip and comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Users will also get Dual-SIM support, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB, an FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

It runs on 4000 mAh battery with Nokia claiming 2 days of battery life on this one. It doesn’t support fast charging though with only up to 5W of charging being supported.

The phone runs Android 9 (Pie) out of the box despite being an Android One device. That should have been Android 10 at least given that it’s part of the Android One Program. But then again, here we are. Nokia though promised 2 Android updates and that means Android 10 still makes its way to this budget device plus 3 years of security updates.

Available in now for purchase in Cyan Green, Sand, and Charcoal color options, the new Nokia 2.3 retails at 109 Euros.
