Google will issue a fix for Pixel 4 to get 90Hz below 75% brightness but “in some condition”

The Google Pixel 4 is new and by that, it comes with new features. I’ve previously reported that early adopters were quick on finding issues with Google new handset namely its 90Hz screen refresh rate were the display throttles down when its screen brightness goes below 75%. Users weren’t happy with what Google has done to the device and the company seems to be quick to make amends and in the next few weeks, Google will roll out a fix for the said issue.

We have previously planned updates that we’ll roll out in the coming weeks that include enabling 90Hz in more brightness conditions

There are no details regarding the update though but Google is aware regarding the situation. The company clarifies that the feature would take effect in situations like when the battery saver is on or when playing videos on the phone which makes sense.

Another reason for that would be in “various brightness and ambient conditions”, again Google did not explain how these situations are determine and how strong does the ambient lighting that tells the handset to fall down to 60Hz.

Things are all software dependent now so most of the things we complain about our gadgets are fixed through updates but this sounds a little funny though and I’m thinking, was this a feature or plainy a bug?
