Last week, Google brought its mobile search result interface to its desktop counterpart but that didn’t work will for its users with negative feedback flying here and there, the search giant is now backtracking things for a bit to satisfy users.
If you’ve been to Google search results for mobile and desktop, you won’t miss their differences. While the desktop version is presented in a clean manner, the mobile version is somewhat of the same thing but with an added graphic to it represented by the websites favicon.
After a flurry of comments and negative feedback, here’s what Google have to say:
Last week we updated the look of Search on desktop to mirror what’s been on mobile for months. We’ve heard your feedback about the update. We always want to make Search better, so we’re going to experiment with new placements for favicons….

Over the coming weeks, the Search giant will test run new ways to improve search results and finding out ways to strategically place the website favicon that’s not going to create much inconvenience for users. This also goes to show that Google is keep tracking user feedback for its future designs and satisfying users of their services is at the top of their priority.
