Galaxy Z Fold7 Is Here: Samsung’s Slimmest Foldable Yet Packs a 200MP Punch
Samsung is stepping back into the foldable phone race with the Galaxy Z Fold7, bringing a slimmer design, powerful 200MP camera, and flagship-grade specs.

Foldable phones were once popularized by Samsung before Chinese mobile phone manufacturers outdid the South Korean firm with better hardware and overall design. But hope still finds its way to Samsung, as the company is now catching up with the new Galaxy Z Fold7.
At first glance, the Galaxy Z Fold7 looks to replace your existing foldable device, thanks to its new construction, thinner profile, larger display, and the addition of a 200MP camera borrowed directly from the Galaxy S25 Ultra series.
When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold7 measures just 4.2mm in thickness and 8.9mm when folded. This makes it one of the thinnest devices from Samsung, and also lighter than its predecessor, weighing only 215 grams.
One key element that made the new Galaxy Z Fold7’s design possible and allowed the device to be as slim as it is, is Samsung’s new Armor FlexHinge, along with its use of an Armor Aluminum frame, making it lighter than ever before.

Whether you’re into productivity, gaming, or casual use, the Galaxy Z Fold7 offers the best display yet in the series. Samsung made sure its panels meet premium standards, providing top-tier user experience and durability. The device has an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the front, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back.
The outer display features a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. It includes a punch hole where a 10MP selfie camera is placed. We wonder why Samsung sticks with this sensor for the selfie camera, while most Chinese counterparts are now using higher-megapixel alternatives. Maybe Samsung has perfected it and sees no need for change? Who knows.
The inner display is an 8-inch display with all the same features as the outer display with its next-gen Ultra-thin Glass, now 50% thicker than its predecessor. However, the upgrades seem to stop there. Samsung downgraded a few features: the punch-hole 10MP selfie camera is a step down from the under-display tech found on the Galaxy Z Fold6, and the S Pen support has been completely removed, which we think is a letdown.
The cameras on the new Galaxy Z Fold7 do get an upgrade. Samsung has brought in its 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor for the main camera—a 24mm equivalent, 1/1.3″ sensor with a bright f/1.7 aperture and OIS. Alongside it are a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

Internally, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is every bit the flagship you’d expect. It comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. It runs One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box, complete with all the latest Galaxy AI features. Samsung promises up to 7 years of Android OS updates and security patches. Users also get a 6-month subscription to Google AI Pro for free.
Surprisingly, the battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,400mAh, the same since the Z Fold3. It supports 25W wired charging, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 comes in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and a Samsung.com-exclusive Mint color. Prices start at around $2,000, with top-tier variants retailing at $2,400.

Depending on your region, Samsung is now accepting pre-orders for the device with a promo that offers double the storage for the base price.
