Fully transparent: the new Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition

Transparent displays sounds more like a thing on for a movie props and visual effects but the technology is already available in real life and major TV companies are actually demoing them for years.

Xiaomi at its 10th year anniversary went full circle and instead deliver the world’s first transparent TV to consumers with the new Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition.

The futuristic Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition uses a transparent OLED sandwiched in a thin transparent glass. All of its processing works and components are all well hiding inside its stand at the bottom leaving the transparent glass at full view.

The transparent display has a viewable area of 55-inches with a 150000:1 static contrast ratio and an infinite dynamic contrast ratio. It also has a 93.1% DCI-P3 color spectrum, a 120Hz refresh rate with 120Hz MEMC technology and a 10bit panel capable of delivering up to 1.07 billion of colors giving a truly remarkable true to life experience.

The Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition comes with a customized MediaTek 9650 for Mi TV with AI Master Smart Engine supporting over 20 optimization algorithms and dedicated optimization for 5 major use scenarios.

It comes with Dolby ATMOS with AI Master for Audio to deliver a superb audio experience that intelligently configure the audio settings depending on content being played.

The new Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is driven by Xiaomi’s MIUI for TV and because it’s an OLED, it support Alway-On feature which users can use to display customized text and images.

The Mi TV Lux Transparent Edition is priced at CNY 49,999 which should be around less than 400 thousand when converted to Philippine peso.
