Fuel Prices Set to Rise Again: Diesel Leads This Week’s Increase

Filipino motorists are once again facing higher fuel costs as petroleum prices in the country are set for another round of increases this week.

Based on the latest official computation from the Department of Energy (DOE), diesel prices are expected to receive the biggest adjustment, increasing by 2.31 Pesos per liter. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, are set to go up by 1.08 Pesos per liter, while kerosene prices will increase by 0.95 Peso per liter.

The latest adjustments reflect the movement of oil prices during last week’s trading period in the international market. Since the Philippines imports a significant portion of its petroleum requirements, changes in global crude and refined fuel prices often directly affect the weekly pump price adjustments implemented by local oil companies.

Diesel users are expected to feel the biggest impact from this week’s adjustment. The increase could affect transportation operators, logistics companies, businesses, and other sectors that rely heavily on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
