The Department of Health (DOH) issued COVID-19 Bulletin No. 158 on August 19, 2020. This bulletin reports a total of 4,650 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country today is now at 173,774 with a Death toll of 2,795 after 111 new reported deaths were added.
This bulletin also reports 716 new recoveries and that makes our total number of recoveries to 113,481
With these figures calculated, the Philippines now has a total of 57,498 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed in the infographic down below:
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
