DOH records 2,180 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) issued COVID-19 Bulletin No. 194 on September 24, 2020. This bulletin reports 2,180 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 296,755 with a Death toll of 5,127 after 36 new reported deaths were added.

The DOH also reports 580 new recoveries that makes our total number of recoveries to 231,928.

With these figures calculated, the Philippines now has total of 59,700 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed in the infographic down below:


The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as often as possible and when outside of our homes.
