DOE Announces Fuel Price Rollback as Gasoline, Diesel, and Kerosene Prices Drop This Tuesday

The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced this week’s fuel price adjustments, giving motorists a welcome break after several weeks of volatile oil prices. Beginning Tuesday, oil companies across the country are expected to implement price rollbacks of 0.73 centavos per liter for gasoline, 0.60 centavos per liter for diesel, and 2.09 Pesos per liter for kerosene.

The DOE said these adjustments reflect last week’s movements in the international oil market, where crude prices softened despite lingering uncertainty caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. While geopolitical tensions continue to influence global energy markets, improved trading conditions during the previous week allowed for lower domestic fuel prices.

Under the department’s guidance, oil companies are expected to implement the announced reductions starting Tuesday, with pump prices not exceeding the prescribed rollback amounts. Individual fuel retailers may still adjust their pricing strategies within the allowable range under existing regulations.

The latest rollback offers modest relief for motorists, public transport operators, and businesses that have been coping with fluctuating fuel costs over the past several weeks. Kerosene users, in particular, will benefit from the largest reduction this week, with prices dropping by more than two pesos per liter.

Although the decrease is good news for consumers, market analysts continue to advise caution. Global oil prices remain highly sensitive to developments in the Middle East, and any escalation in the conflict could once again trigger volatility in international crude markets. As a result, fuel prices in the Philippines may continue to fluctuate in the coming weeks depending on global supply and demand conditions.

Motorists are encouraged to monitor announcements from their preferred fuel retailers, as the new prices take effect on Tuesday nationwide.
