Cherry Mobile releases Rover – a waterproof Android device stuffed with IR Blaster, Push to Talk and 3600 mAh battery
Pinoy Techno Guide just posted what seem to be the first waterproof Android device from a local mobile phone company. Cherry Mobile brings you the new Rover, a small Android Jelly Bean smartphone with IP67 certification which basically means that the new CM: Rover can easily handle water spills and dips.
Since Cherry Mobile haven’t formally introduced the new waterproof phone, we’ll have to rely as of the moment to their promotional material. The new CM: Rover basically is a 3.5-inch device with 1.3GHz Dual-core processor, a 5 Megapixel main camera and a standard VGA camera on the front. It supports Dual-SIM capability and is expected to support 3G and HSPA+ wireless network connectivity.
According to our source and the image above, the new Rover comes with Push to Talk function which works the same way as two-way radios. Aside from that nifty function, it also feature an IR Blaster with universal remote function along with a compatible software obviously, but users may download their favorite IR compatible apps from Google Play if they wish to use the functionality.
Last but not the least is the large 3,600 mAh battery which would come out more than enough for daily regular use with a more power left to do extra things along the way.
The new Cherry Mobile is marketed at a price of 5,999 Php and will be available in Cherry Mobile stores, kiosks and retailer stores nationwide.
