Without much fanfare, HTC announced their new budget-friendly handset with the new HTC One X9. The new handset is the company’s latest mid-range handset that offers a large 5.5-inch full-HD display. There has been no official word regarding the type of display that the One X9 is equipped, however some speculations suggests that it could be an AMOLED type, an IPS or a regular color LCD display, but as we’ve might expect on an HTC device, the mid-range handset should at least have an IPS display to keep.
The handset is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 chip with an octa-core processors, it comes with a PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3 GB of system RAM. It comes with a 32 GB of standard internal memory with a microSD slot that supports of up to 2 GB of microSD card.
For photography enthusiasts, the One X9 includes a 13 Megapixel main camera with Dual-Tone LED flash, an Optical Image Stabilization feature, BSI sensor and 4K video recording capabilities. The front is also equipped with a nice camera hardware with UltraPixel technology and 1080p video recording capabilities.
It supports 4G/LTE connection as well as 3G and 2G wireless network compatibility with Dual Nano SIM slots. Other connectivity options comes as standard that includes high-speed WiFi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/bg/n dual band, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
Feature-Wise, the One X9 comes with Dual BoomSound speakers with audio improvements provided by Dolby Digital. The handset will be running on Android with HTC’s proprietary HTC Sense UI however it’s still unclear what version of Android the One X9 is booting on with.
Measuring at 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.99 mm, the new handset weighs 173 grams including its 3000 mAh battery. The HTC One X9 will be shipping in Gunmetal Grey and Silver color options with a price tag of 2,399 yuan and that’s approximately around $370 in the US. The handset is rolling out in China soon with international availability to come out later.
