Both the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge may skip Android 5.0 in favor of Android 5.0.1, expected by February 2015
You’ve just bought the new Galaxy Note 4 from Samsung and as expected you’re on the hunt for things that you feel necessary to make your new and shiny Galaxy Note 4 as personal as it gets. Then suddenly you’ve realize that everyone else are jumping in to the latest craze in town. Every other device is or had already been upgraded to the latest version of Android and that’s the new version 5.0 named Lollipop, you check your phone for any updates but unfortunately the device that you’re having says that the device is currently up to update in which as of this time of writing, the Galaxy Note 4 is currently running Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) right out of the box.
Now, users of Samsung’s top end flagship phablet may have to wait until next year for the much-needed update to arrive. Rumors have been circulating that Samsung may have to skip for Android’s version 5.0.0 and will go directly with version 5.0.1. This could be understandably practical as the latest version already have the updates with them which had iron-out those bugs and things which plague Android 5.0 first release. adopting the most latest update also gives the emphasis of the Galaxy Note 4 for being a future-proof device as Samsung has committed to the line.
Samsung already released the Lollipop update to the company’s flagship Galaxy S5 and there were also leaks of Android 5.0 test builds for the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge and recently the Galaxy S4 which are all lined-up for the update. According to SamMoble, Samsung is currently eyeing for a possible February 2015 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update roll-out for the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Alpha, users and analysts have speculated that Samsung will most likely to release a similar updates for the Galaxy Note 4 as they share mostly of the same characteristics as the Galaxy Note Edge except for its curved display which the Galaxy Note 4 units doesn’t have.
So are you eagerly awaiting for Samsung to release the TouchWiz adorned Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for your Galaxy Note 4? The Lollipop update will most likely bring new functionality and a slight improvements to the user interface and with the new ART engine, apps could hopefully become virtually lag-free.
