Android 7.0 Nougat in coming to selected Huawei devices, the company announces

Huawei is working on Android 7.0 Nougat for its lineup and according to the company, the Operating System upgrade will be coming in the first quarter of 2017 with the company’s proprietary EMUI version 5.0. Devices that will surely get the new update are obviously the latest from Huawei and these are the Huawei Mate 8 and the P9 as the first beneficiaries. After this, the P9 Plus, P9 lite, Nova and the Nova Plus will follow through.

Besides the new features and optimizations from Android 7.0, Huawei also includes a number of improvements on its official EMUI Android skin that will eventually cut down the steps to make things done within the UI. With that,Huawei claims that about 90% of the time, users will reach the UI’s core functions in just two to three clicks and that’s something that will significantly improvements the user experience.

With EMUI 5.0, Huawei will finally support Android’s long-standing feature the App drawer and users may switch between traditional interface and with an App drawer in any given time. And introduce in the upcoming UI as well is the introduction of Profiles which runs parallel together so users can switch between profiles on the fly.

The update is something every Huawei users sporting a Mate 8, P9 and their derivatives and other compatible devices to look forward to. And if you’re one of those, you might just be able to participate in the Beta program as well to take on the experience first hand before it becomes available to everyone else.
