It’s a bit late but is definitely coming, Cherry Mobile will officially rollout Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for its Cosmos Z2 device. The KitKat update will start seeding Over-The-Air for users of CM: Cosmos Z2 on June 16, 2014. It is also widely known that Cherry Mobile is also preparing an update for other devices such as the Omega Spectrum which the company has posted a video recently regarding its planned updates.
The said update was tipped and anticipated to come out last March but it seem the company wasn’t done from testing the new firmware and has pushed back the update to a later date until they have posted a teaser a few weeks ago. Now the question is whether Cherry Mobile will also update older devices that meet the Android 4.4 system requirements or they would only release updates for newer and flagship devices only.
The image banner above simply explains the procedure on how to install the update when it has been rolled out. As always, it would be a good idea to back up all your data prior to the update installation and only download the update in a secure Wi-Fi connection as the update would weigh a considerable large amount of data to download the firmware over a standard wireless connection. It is also required to have at least 80% of available power before installing the update.
