AMD announces the new Radeon RX 6000 series Graphics Cards

Graphics cards may has become an essential component for every PC when it comes to video and photo editing, CAD plotting however in this era of computing, gaming is where these cards are mostly made for. We’ve seen the new generation graphics cards from NVIDIA recently and now AMD Radeon showed their counterpart.

AMD announced the new Radeon RX 6000 series gaming graphics with the next generation technologies. The new series brought new cutting edge technology and power efficiency with the new 7nm RDNA 2 Architecture. Graphics cards based on the new RX 6000 series comes twice the improvements over the last generation of cards plus a seamless support for Microsoft’s DirectX 12 Ultimate API.

AMD has the Radeon RX 6800 XT which includes 72 compute units and support of up to 16GB of GDDR6 RAM with 256-bit wide memory bus. For this variant it clocks at 2.015GHz under minimal load with a peak of 2.25GHz under certain conditions.

The new Radeon RX 6800 XT also comes with 128MB of infinity cache, a technology with high-density and high-speed cache based on the Zen L3 cache. It also minimizes DRAM bottlenecks which in return reduce latency and power consumption and optimize 1440p and 4K resolutions and AMD claims that this card has a total power of 300W.

The regular gamers, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 should be enough with 60 compute units with a base clock at 1.8GHz and max out at 2.0GHz which isn’t bad all as it has all other bells and whistle of its XT sibling and and it it only has a board power of 250W.

For its top of the line cards, AMD has the new Radeon RX 6900 XT which is made for serious gamers and gaming build enthusiast who needs graphics power and every on a machine. It comes with 80 compute units which even boost more performance while the rest of the specs mirrors that of the RX 6800 XT.

AMD partners with manufacturers such as ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte MSI, SAPPHIRE and XFX to bring this cards into the market. Both the RX 6800 and the RX 6800 XT based cards will be available in the US starting November 18 while the RX 6900 XT cards will hit store later on December 8, just in time for the holidays.
