Last year, Xiaomi made into the headlines when they unleashed the worlds first close to bezel less design with the Mi Mix that also shocked the entire unsuspecting industry. No that other manufacturers are jumping into the trend, Xiaomi is all set to update the Mi Mix with the upcoming Mi Mix 2 which further remove the bezels on its screen.
A recent leak out from China just made the rounds which is said to be the alleged Mi Mix 2 and if this is real, the Mi Mix 2 may once again make its lasting mark into development of future mobile devices.
From what the image shows above, the Mi Mix 2 could sport an all screen front from which the small bezel that we saw in the Mi Mix is gone. Since the bezels looks to stay no more on the front, there could be no other place for a front facing camera to fit in so some speculations rose to suggests that the Mi Mix 2 may not have a front facing camera this time, but who knows, Xiaomi’s been able to make radical designs on its devices and we might just be surprise on what the manufacturer could do.
With Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi will also reinstate its piezoelectric module into the line which doesn’t use speakers on the earpiece and relies on vibrations to produce sound.
The Mi Mix 2 is said to be enclosed on a full metal frame this time, with a little thinner profile than the current Mi Mix’s 7.9mm body. The anticipated handset is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and will be equipped with 19 Megapixel camera, though we’re not sure if it will include a single sensor or the increasingly popular dual camera setup.
Finally, the upcoming Mi Mix 2 runs on 4500 mAh embedded battery and will be driven by the latest Xiaomi MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat). The handset is expected to become available by the mid of September with a price of CNY 4,999 or roughly about $748.
