90 new COVID-19 recoveries reported today

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #50 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 03, 2020.

Today, the Department of Health announced 295 new COVID-19 cases in the country that brings us to a total of 9,223 confirmed cases. We have 4 new deaths, that’s one of the lowest numbers of deaths in a few weeks and that brings our total death count to 607.

With the lowest deaths, we also have one of the highest number of recoveries at 90 as reported by the DOH in as little as 24 hours. So far, the number of recoveries in the country have now reached 1,214.


COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
