4,963 new COVID-19 cases: An alarming high figure for a single day report
The Department of Health (DOH) issued COVID-19 Bulletin No. 140 on August 01, 2020. This bulletin reports a whopping 4,963 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 98,232 with a Death toll now at 2,039 after 17 new reported deaths were added.
This bulletin also reports 93 new recoveries and that makes our total number of recoveries to 65,265.
With these figures calculated, the Philippines now has a total of 30,928 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed in the infographic down below:
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
