HMD Global already unveiled the Nokia 8 which was previously thought to be the Nokia 9 that we’ve been hearing for months. With Nokia 8 already out from the closet, the thought of HMD not to release the rumored Nokia 9 seems to arise until someone from the company told that HMD plans to release a bigger version of its Nokia 8 with a lot more features than what Nokia 8 has at the moment.
Currently, the Nokia 8 has a 5.3-inch display which like all other current flagships are, is a tad smaller when compared. but according to HMD Global, its decision to pursue such display such was a result from user feedback from which their ideas was based upon. Now to meet demands, HMD is said to be working on a device with on par specs as the Nokia 8 but with bigger display and that would probably be the Nokia 9.
Aside from the bigger display, the said device with also follow the suite of features that were common with today’s flagship device and that includes, a smaller to virtually bezel less display with bigger screen-to-body ratio. Apart from the display, the said Nokia 9 will probably include an iris scanner with such feature being rumored from the beginning. And if things go through as anticipated, the Nokia 9 will be the first Nokia device that will sport an IP68 certified hardware.
When it comes to its powerhouse, the Nokia 9 is expected to include at least a Snapdragon 835 coupled to either a 6GB or even 8GB of RAM with a storage space of 128GB. It’s camera module will be a carryover from the Nokia 8 and that might also include its imaging sensors as well.
HMD Global though has been tight-lipped regarding the matter and hasn’t been hint anything information about its release date so we are still speculating about it with some believing that it could be ready for the holidays while a few practically sets a possible unveiling in 2018.
