vivo recently launched their next flagship X series the X9s and the X9s Plus, though we are unlikely to see this device touching down on our shore but there are a few of us who takes a leap a little further just to get their most sought device even it would cost more than what the manufacturer have specified, so here we go…

The new X9s and the X9s Plus like its predecessors are focused toward the Selfie market with both featuring a dual front-facing cameras while a single imaging sensor lies on the back. The are both mid-ranger devices and are powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 and Snapdragon 653 respectively.

This is the new vivo X9s, the base variant of the two and comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p full-HD AMOLED display. As we have said, the handset comes with a Snapdragon 652 Chipset with octa-core processor running at 1.8GHz and is coupled with 4GB of system RAM and 64GB of non-expandable built-in storage.

As its assets, the handset includes a 16 Megapixel camera on the back along with an LED flash and features PDAF and an f/2.0 Aperture lens. On the front is its prowess with 20 Megapixel and 5 Megapixel sensors with its own dedicated flash. Both sensors on the front has a f/2.0 Aperture lens great for more than just Selfies.

Users will also get to expect all the standard connectivity features including LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and standard 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB 2.0 with OTG support. For security, it includes a fingerprint sensor that is embedded on the home button of the handset.

The new vivo X9s comes with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) out of the box with vivo’s proprietary FunTouch OS 3.0 on top and keeping it running is its built-in 3,320 mAh battery.

As for the bigger vivo X9s Plus, the handset comes with all the features from its smaller brother with minor improvements. Sensibly, as the “Plus” naming convention connotes, this device should include a bigger or improved hardware that a typical or base model devices, with that said, the X9s Plus is given a larger display at 5.85-inch however despite the increase in screen size, its display resolution stays at 1080p.

Another improved element on the Plus variant is the little faster Snapdragon 653 maxing out at 1.95GHz. It comes with the same 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also runs Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with FunTouch OS 3.0 and has a bigger 4,015 mAh battery.

Both of these devices are equipped with dual SIM slots and will be available in these color options: Gold, Rose Gold and Matte Black. As for the price, the vivo X9s will be sold at CNY 2,698 ($396) while the bigger vivo X9s Plus is priced at CNY 2,998 ($440). These two new devices are currently available in China but like most of vivo’s devices, there are no information as of the most if this will be available internationally.
