Rumors are out and the real stories are in. As we looked forward for this day, the wait is finally over as Samsung officially resurrected the Galaxy Note 7 from the dead as the new Galaxy Note FE or the “Fan Edition”. As the naming suggests, the Galaxy Note FE fuels the core of Samsung Note series fans with the fluid designed and aesthetics of the original Galaxy Note 7 in a safer package, no pun intended.
The Galaxy Note FE is the same Galaxy Note 7 in every way but unlike from what we thought of earlier, handset isn’t a refurbished unit like everyone had expected but instead was built from the original Galaxy Note 7 unused parts. Something that assures customers that they are getting brand new units.
But the major difference between the Fan edition and the original Galaxy Note 7 is the battery, where it comes with a smaller capacity powerpack at 3200 mAh as opposed to the Galaxy Note 7’s 3500 mAh. Apart from the battery, the newer Fan Edition handset comes with the latest Android 7 Nougat built-in with almost similar user experience as the current flagship the Galaxy S8 with Bixby on board.
The Galaxy Note FE is only available in South Korea with 400,000 units initially for now. The handset will be available by July 7 and is priced at 699,000 KRW or roughly around $611. The handset will sport these color options: Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium. As a complement, Samsung will include a supplementary cover case to match every phone.
