The lower-end market is pretty much dominated by Android devices, but today Microsoft is ready to take on the challenge as they launch the new Lumia 435 handset. It will be the cheapest Lumia device to date with prices that goes down to €70 for the base model while maintaining the best possible hardware it could offer to seamlessly run Windows Phone 8.1 OS with the latest Lumia Denim update. With the latest underlying software available, the Lumia 435 will benefit the best features of Windows 8.1 including; live folders, new notification area, apps corner and especially Microsoft’s Cortana (on selected markets).

The new Lumia handset features a 4-inch LCD display with 800 x 480 resolutions. It is powered by a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 1 GB of RAM. There’s an 8GB of internal storage for users to use with a free 30 GB cloud storage courtesy of Microsoft OneDrive Cloud Storage. Users that prefer to take their contents with them can add a micro-SD card of up to 128 GB in capacity.

As an entry-level handset, Microsoft had to cut some corners and one of them has affected the camera department, the Lumia 435 will have the modest camera available on a Lumia device with only 2 Megapixel for the main camera and is fixed focus. Despite the shortcomings, the main camera is still capable of taking a standard 480p videos at 30 fps. On the front, there’s a standard VGA camera for basic video calls and self-portraits.

Lumia 435 will be available in both single SIM and dual SIM variants and will support GSM, 3G and HSPA+ wireless networks. other connectivity options that came with the handset are : Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support.

The new Lumia 435 will be available this February in selected countries in Europe, India, Asia-Pacific, Middle east and Africa for both the single and dual SIM variants.
