LG embarks to a journey to dethrone the lightest MacBook Air as the lightest consumer laptop with their own LG Gram. As the name suggests, the new lightweight laptop is one of the lightest and compact Notebook computer in the market with only 2.16 pounds in weight.
The new Gram will be available in 13-inch and 14-inch variants and it’s one of the assets that makes the LG Gram stand from the rest at the most as it features an IPS LCD panel. LG maintained the device weight at 2.16 pounds while having different screen sizes available with a combination of materials which are mainly of plastic. And one of the greatest advantage with the new LG Gram is that it comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 with Microsoft’s “Signature Series” labels which could only mean one thing and that it doesn’t come with bloatware like those from other manufacturers.
Despite being lightweight, the new LG Gram isn’t another sub-performing laptop like we use to have in the past. Under the hood is a powerful Intel Core-i5 processor with a 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage for the 13-inch variant. There’s also a 14-inch variant with Intel Core-i5, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. If you want more from the Gram, LG is also making the laptop available with a powerful Core-i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a beefier 256 GB of internal storage space.
It comes with a standard laptop features including two USB 3.0 ports. microSD card reader and an HDMI port. LG claims that the new Gram laptop could last up to 7.5 hours in one full charge but we’re yet to confirm such claims in a real world scenario.
The new LG Gram is now available for purchase at the Microsoft online and retail stores and in Amazon. Prices for the LG Gram starts at $899 for the 13-inch variant while a Core-i5 14-inch variant goes for $999 and the Core-i7 14-inch laptop will cost $1,399.
