Microsoft is working on a new Windows phone device and that’s definitely a kind of thing that we are looking forward to. Recent reports have leaked into the internet which talks about two alleged Lumia devices with codenames as Talkman and CityMan. Perhaps these devices just don’t come in random from the Redmond giant as it prepares to lunch their upcoming Windows 10 Mobile operating system in the market. As many believes, both of these devices are going into the high-end category with speculations that it would be the successor of the Lumia 930 but not definitely anyway closer to the Lumia 1020.

As one of the anticipated devices for the Lumia series, the 9xx series has been notably one of the top of the line handset of the Lumia series with specs comparatively on par with the best devices from the Android market. As we have already a number of devices in the 9xx series beginning with the Lumia 900 then Lumia 910 both of which running earlier version of Windows Phone OS then we had the Lumia 920 then later on the Lumia 930/ICON. Now as we enter a new phase in the Windows Mobile ecosystem, Microsoft leaves us into thinking that the next installment of the 900 series in Lumia would be none other than the Lumia 940 and is expected to launch off together with Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile launched later this year.

While digging through a lot of stuff regarding the alleged flagship, we found out that the Lumia Talkman and the Lumia CityMan we have earlier would be the Lumia 940 and the larger Lumia 940 XL respectively. Both devices sits on the high-end segment with a slight difference in terms of display size, but both will feature almost the same hardware inside them.

We all know that the Lumia series came from Nokia which makes high-end mobile phone and smartphone devices with top-notch imaging technologies within them, the alleged Lumia 940 is expected to follow the footsteps of its predecessors and will bring new imaging capabilities to the table maximizing its resources and taking advantage of the features that the new underlying operating system has to offer. As our popular leakster @evleaks has posted recently, the upcoming Lumia 940 will include some goodies in the imaging department with a possible inclusion of not one or two but three LED flashes which is said to enhanced captured images.

As it looks promising, however @evleaks blurred out our image leaving us to believe that Microsoft has something really big is coming in store for us and that Windows phone users shouldn’t loose all hopes as the upcoming flagship will definitely deliver something that everyone wanted for so long. Mobile imaging is one of the key elements and one of the selling points of Lumia products not to mention its highly praised PureView technology which leaves other smartphones behind. The cameras inside the Lumia 940 and the 940 XL is believed to be a 20 Megapixel sensor at the back while the front comes with  a 5 Megapixel sensor to get the selfie-centric users covered.

Aside from the imaging capabilities of the handset. Other features are still blurred out at the moment but as we understand the concept that Microsoft recently make waves, the Lumia 940 would be the base model of the handset which comes with a 5.2-inch display while the Lumia 940 XL comes in a 5.7-inch display package, both packs QHD resolutions. under the hood specs includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 for the Lumia 940 and perhaps a Snapdragon 810 on its larger sibling. Both devices are expected to include 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage at most.
