CES is one of the biggest tech shows in the world which showcases devices in different market segments during the start of the year and companies like Huawei never missed the chance to present their devices to consumers. At Huawei’s booth, the Chinese tech company formally introduced the new MediaPad M2 – a 10-inch Android tablet with an exceptional sound quality output that hasn’t been present on any tablet devices so far.

Unlike most mainstream tablet devices in the market today which focuses on visuals, Huawei’s route goes to a better sounds experience and to make that possible, Huawei partners with Harman Kardon to equipped the new MediaPad M2 with four speakers on all four sides of the device. Huawei finds that besides a better display, a tablet also needs better speakers that equates to an overall user experience. Most of our tablets today and often used as e-book readers, gaming and multimedia contents with the latter certainly accounts on watching videos and movies which the tablet is certainly being marketed at.

Clearly, the new MediaPad M2 isn’t just your another Android tablet. The Chinese tech firm is highly specific with the quality that the device is being built though the looks is somewhat familiar, the device is constructed in 7.35mm thick body built with a full metal aluminum frame and a sandblasted metal finish. It weighs just around 500 grams and is considered light for its size. The high-quality four loud speakers by Harman Kardon is driven by a dedicated amplifier with Clari-Fi Audio Restoration and SWS 2.0 Surround Sound. And one more thing about the new MediaPad M2 that’s going to make headlines is the inclusion of an active stylus called the M-Pen with 2048 pressure levels which will be bundled with the high-end model of the device.

Designed for the best multimedia experience, the MediaPad M2 comes with a 10-inch 1920 x 1200p resolutions IPS LCD display. Under the hood is a beastly 8-core Kirin 930 SoC running at 2 GHz. RAM and storage wise, the MediaPad M2 will be available in two variants with one having a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage combos while the other more high-end trim with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Both variants is capable of storage expansion through a microSD card of up to 128 GB in capacity.

With already mouth-watering features, the new MediaPad M2 is also equipped with a 13 Megapixel main camera on its back and a 5 Megapixel front-facing camera sits on the front. Another welcome feature on the new MediaPad M2 is the fingerprint scanner which is embedded inside the physical home button. It comes with a standard connectivity features including a high-speed Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0 and GPS with A-GPS support. Also, there will be an LTE variant of the tablet and will be available both for the 16 GB and 64 GB models.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 is undoubtedly one of the best tablet devices we’ve seen at CES 2016 today and when it becomes available, the tablet will be available in two color variants and that would really depend on what storage cap you are going to get. For the 16 GB model, the tablet will be available in Silver and the Gold color option will be for the 64 GB model. Prices for the MediaPad M2 variants are as follows: 16 GB Wi-Fi only and LTE variants at $349 and $399 respectively while the 64 GB Wi-Fi only with the M-Pen bundle costs $419 while the LTE equipped variant of this model should cost $469. With these pricing schemes, the new MediaPad M2 should easily be able to compete with other brands with a significant advantage on features and pricing.
