Another year another flagship, that’s what Cherry Mobile has in store for us in the next twelve months. Local mobile brand Cherry Mobile unveiled their next generation flagship handset the Flare S6 series. The company has three variants of the flagship this year with the base model Flare S6, a Selfie-centric Flare S6 Selfie and the highest spec’d a best of both worlds device the Flare S6 Plus.

Designed to bring new experiences for Cherry Mobile users, the Flare S6 comes with its own Cherry OS, it’s a UI overlay on top of Android like the TouchWiz on Samsung and similar mobile devices. The Cherry OS comes with optimized features such as System optimizer, Antivirus, and the new Avatar mode where users can log into multiple social media accounts.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6

Being tight on a budget doesn’t mean that you’re not going to enjoy the latest innovations in mobile devices, the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 is design for such and comes with a number of features that will live through your needs. It comes with a 5.2-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a Quad-core processor. You’ll also get a decent 2GB of RAM and a 16GB of storage with microSD card support for storage expansion.

One of the most important things to consider in today’s devices is the camera and the new handset comes with a relatively reliable 13 Megapixel shooter both on the front and back and features a BSI sensor. There’s an LED flash on the back to assist in low light conditions.

The handset has Dual SIM slots and supports LTE connectivity. It has a 2600 mAh battery which should last a day in normal use. Though you’ll see an antenna lines on the back, the back cover itself is plastic and is removable to reveal its battery and the slots for the SIM’s and the memory expansion slot. It also house a fingerprint sensor which sits below the camera module on the back.

As for the price, the CM Flare S6 is the most affordable from the lineup at 3,999.00 Php.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie

Most Pinoys love Selfie, no doubt about it. The trend for Selfies marks a key market for manufacturers as one of their focus, many have jumped in to take advantage into the hype and who could blame them. It’s one of the most common photos you’ll see on social media sites and creating a dedicated devices for customers is just convenient if I may say.

Though this isn’t the first Selfie device from Cherry but is obviously not the last but for now, the Flare S6 Selfie is one of the most favorable Selfie shooter that Cherry Mobile has to offer.

It comes with a 16 Megapixel cameras on the front and back with a Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P3 sensor and a dedicated LED flash on both. It also comes with Morpho, Cherry Mobile’s version of VideoSo whichever you are taking you photos and videos, you’ll know that you got the right equipment in your pocket when needed.

The handset features the same 5.2-inch IPS display length on the Flare S6 but the Selfie variant has more pixel density on it as it is in Full-HD with 1920 x 1080 resolutions. What powers the device is an Octa-core MediaTek processor with 3GB of RAM. There’s a 16GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie comes with 2600 mAh battery that is non-removable primarily because of the handset’s full-metal unibody design. The handset comes with a physical Home button on the front where it also house the fingerprint sensor. It supports LTE connectivity and 2 SIM slots plus other standard connectivity features.

The Flare S6 Selfie is now available in retail stores across the country for 7,999.00 Php.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus

The Flare S6 Plus is Cherry Mobile’s flagship bearer and is by far the most advanced device they’ve ever released. It has all the things that you’d get for a 2017 flagship device, discreet antenna lines – checked, dual-cameras – checked and the newest kid on the block the wide-angle 18:9 aspect ratio display – checked. In one sight, it pretty sums up the best features of a 2017 smartphone.

The handset is pretty much the same in build quality as the Flare S6 Selfie, you’ll get a full-metal unibody design but with the Flare S6 Plus you will have the best display that Cherry Mobile has to offer. On the front, you’ll be greeted by a 5.7-inch HD IPS Display which has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a display resolution of 1440 x 720 that Cherry Mobile calls as TrueView.

Under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek processor with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU paired to a 4GB of RAM. Internal storage is at 64GB with a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Because of its wider, longer display, the handset will have to rely on on-screen navigation button and the fingerprint sensor goes to the back. It supports 4G/LTE connectivity and has two SIM slots. Coming as standard on the Flare S6 Plus is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and a USB-Type C port.

For Imaging, the Plus on its name is significant, it comes with two cameras on the back which includes a 16 Megapixel primary and a 5 Megapixel depth sensor camera, this comes supported by an LED flash for low light shooting. On the front, it’s basically the same story as the back with both have a pair for 16 Megapixel and 5 Megapixel sensors and also a dedicated LED flash.

The handset comes with a slightly larger 3000 mAh non-removable battery and is primarily driven by the Cherry OS which is basically an Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Cherry Mobile’s optimization on top.

While both the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 and the Flare S6 Selfie is already available in the market, the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus will be available at a later date and will cost 9,999.00 Php.

Another thing to note though and that has been confirmed by Cherry Mobile, all Flare S6 devices will soon get Upgraded into Android 8.0 (Oreo). The date haven’t been fixed yet by the roll out is said to sit around the end of 2017 and the early of 2018 timeframe.
