Avatar fans has been waiting for the next sequel for years with Avatar creator and director James Cameron already revealed in the past that the franchise would be a trilogy. We’ve grown impatient of waiting but something came out just as we set our course in the second half of the decade, news broke that the Avatar 2 was to hit theaters on December of 2016 just as Cameron added a few more sequels into the mix, the date has gone past and we saw no Avatar or the likes of it, so it was a daunting for us fans who were excited.
It’s been almost 8 years since we first saw Avatar in theaters and speculations for the next sequel are coming out every now and then with little hopes along with it as the inaccuracy of details regarding Avatar 2 for the time being is almost a missed thing but then, James Cameron and his team finally came out with specific dates that for the next release of the succeeding sequels. The nearest would be on the December 18th, 2020 for the Avatar 2 and December 17th, 2021 for the third installment. The fourth will be on December 19th, 2024 and the last and final chapter is tentatively scheduled on December 19th, 2025.
Keep in mind though that all of these are just another details to fuel and keep the Avatar franchise alive since it seems pushing back dates for the franchise is regularly seen now and again so better take these dates with a grain of salt for now. The series relatively relies on what technology brings forth, so it is likely that something will change overtime. The real thing here is that the Plots are in place, production is ready and the only thing we’ll do now is wait and be patient. We know James isn’t going to let his fans down and with long time preparation means we won’t be disappointed when the movie finally hit our local theaters.
